I always enjoy that sense of a clean slate that each new year brings, even if it is mostly illusory. I’m in the middle of an unpleasant cold, but damn it, I feel like if I can just ride this wave, things will really start going my way this year. And your way, too. We can do this. After a nap. Like I said, I have a cold.

I used to list resolutions, but I got discouraged. I rarely¬†followed through on them. But the more I think about it, the more I think it helps to at least state your goals out loud. At least it points you in a direction, right? So, here’s what I want to get accomplished this year:

I want to get back on track financially. This means finding a new day job, and possibly scaling back on looking for on-camera work. It was fun for a while, but the work (and money) just hasn’t been rolling in, so I need to make a change.

I want to lose weight. I always want to lose weight. I know how to lose weight; I just have to do it.

I want to write a novel. I have two or three other projects to finish first, but I really think I can do this. So I’m gonna.

There’s other stuff too, but these are the three that stick in my head, so these are the ones I’ll go with. Happy New Year, everybody!
